About Femi.the.god

Femi.the.god is a UK-based visual artist and designer from Lagos, Nigeria, telling stories that capture the rhythm of the city he grew up in and celebrating the spirit of the underdog as seen in crowded bus rides, the street hustle, the taste of shared food, the music that fills the air, and the small victories that give life meaning. An alumnus of the University of Lagos, he went on to found the collaborative clothing brand IJAPA Co alongside his practice as a studio artist, continuing to use these platforms to merge fashion and art.

Influenced early by his father’s love for art and highlife music, his inspirations include figures such as Marc Ecko, Don Ed Hardy, Pablo Picasso, and Virgil Abloh. He has presented his work in several solo and group exhibitions, including Up From Nothing and Enying Mortality, and has exhibited on the TEDxLagos stage, where he also spoke on the transformative role of art in shaping good governance.
